Vending Machines Business Tips to Get You Started

Vending Machines Business Tips to Get You Started

1. The object of the sale can be crucial to the business but it can vary from different types of beverages to hygiene products. Product demand and profit margins are to be studied thoroughly for each type of product. For example candy and gumball machines return a profit greater than the actual product value but the sales have to be larger or you need to have more than one machine in one place.

2. Once you have decided on a product you have to choose a proper location, where people stay or gather, places like lunch rooms, bus or train stations, access ways. The location is of critical importance and must be according to what you are selling – for candy, balls, gumballs the best places are where kids may wait like in front of restaurants or at zoos. Restrooms or airports are the best locations to place vending machines selling condoms or tissues.

3. The vending machines can be either rented or purchased. It is usually much cheaper to rent a vending machine but the new ones don’t come very expensive and if they are successful, studies have shown that they pay for themselves in less than a year’s time.

4. Used machines are another way to go. Letting aside the price advantages for this option you can find that many companies that sell used machines offer a reasonable payment plan and even guarantees that their machines will work without any problems.

5. Browse the web for special offers. Many manufacturers now sell their machines online and offer great deals on new or refurbished products.

6. The biggest problem for used machines is posed by the currency changes they may have seen. You have to check if they work with present currencies and how easy is to receive the desired product because this will bring the customers back or drive them away and put you out of business. If the machine works just fine, you just cut your investments a great deal.

7. A thing of interest is the availability of replacement parts. More and more companies offer metal machines that are more reliable than the old plastic ones. Also the repairs are a lot easier and you don’t need a lot of plastic spare parts like with the old ones.

8. You have to keep in mind that the vending machine business is related to the business that houses the machines and it should be a popular one – the more people the bigger the profits. Before asking permission to place the machines remember that persistence is the key to this tough game where 9 of 10 business will turn down your offer .Always talking to the owner of the business instead of an usual employee increases your chances dramatically.

9. The percent of the profits that you are sharing with that business is a thing to take into consideration. You have to find a compromise between motivation of the store/business owner and your own profits.

10. You can take a shortcut and buy the vending machine already placed in a great location. The previous owner will provide you with information about the success of the business, the most frequently encountered problems, most demanded products and store owner commission.

Bulk Vending Switching to $.50 Coin Mechanisms

Bulk Vending Switching to $.50 Coin Mechanisms

If you are having a difficult time in this economy with making a profit with your vending route it may be time to switch to $.50 coin mechanisms.

I still see vending manufacturers with candy vending machines with the $.25 coin mechanisms.

I just saw an advertisement on Ebay for XYZ Vending who offers both the $.25 and $.50 coin mechanisms. I think it is time for a change in the industry. With prices going up on candy and on fuel costs to service vending machines it seems that a new standard needs to be set.

Will it drop sales? I think that depends on your combination of machines and the types of items you are vending. Will customers be willing to drop $.50 in a vending machine for some gumballs? I think so.

Have any of you upgraded to $.50 coin mechanisms? I would be interested and I know the readers of this blog would be interested in when and how you did it. Where did you buy the equipment and how did you upgrade? What did it do to your sales? Your opinions and comments are appreciated!

Great Bulk Candy Vending Machine Tips

Initially, you should service your bulk candy vending machine locations yourself. Then if you would like you can hire someone to help you service the route.

The more choices you have available in a location the better your profits.

A bright colorful bulk candy vending machine such as Red or Yellow will be used more and you will make more money.

Reading a good Ebook on Vending such as The Vending Tactics Ebook can be extremely helpful in avoiding expensive mistakes.

Getting great locations yourself can save you hundreds and make you more profits. We recommend the Greater Vending Locations Ebook by Ronnie Talent.

Service your bulk vending machines regularly and it will give you bigger profits.

A nice looking, clean, well maintained machine will get used more often.

Don't ever put the sticky part of the charity or candy labels on the glass globe or other parts of your bulk candy vending machine. These can be a pain to get off later and can create fading.

If you have candy that sticks together like Mike and Ikes or Hot Tamales you can spray them with some PAM. This helps allot.

If you are getting Ants or other bugs in your bulk candy vending machine, you can put some Vaseline on the top of the stand. This prevents the bugs from crawling up into the actual head of the machine. It works great.

When you walk into a vending machine location and see someone else has a machine there, don't let that matter. They may have an out of order machine or can be getting poor service. Go ahead and don't be afraid to locate your machine next to it.

It seems that the Peanut M&M's might sell better than the regular most of the time. Take our Survey at the top of this page by clicking on the banner above so we can find out. You have a chance to win a gift card by taking the survey.

Keep good bulk vending machine records.

You will want to change out slow moving products with other better moving products. Test, Test Test.

Make sure your bulk vending machine is spread out as it will bring you higher profits.

It is a smart idea to change up the times you go to your locations, it is a good idea for your safety and security. You never know who might be checking out your route and the times you show up.

When going into a new location always give out some samples and business cards so the bulk vending location gets to know you better.

Only fill your machines about 70% full the first time. See how it does for a couple months. This will avoid wasting candy.

If it is in an area that is out of town or you only service the bulk vending location very infrequently you may want to fill it higher in this case.

On top of your bulk candy vending machines you can put small dixie cups. This can help improve sales.

Make sure you do not put your bulk candy vending machines in an area with sunlight hitting it. This can cause melted candy and ultimately make you lose your location.

Have a great weekend and Keep on Vending!
