Just like when McDonald's first opened and continued their success through the years their primary goal was finding the best location for their stores. Actually most people don't realize it but McDonald's is really more of a Realestate company now it seems than a restaurant. Sure everyone thinks of it as a restaurant because of the food they are serving but those locations have sky rocketed in value.

This same thing goes for bulk candy vending machines. Finding the right locations with plenty of foot traffic is key to your business. Many times it is very difficult though to find great locations that have not already been taken. Your route will also become very valuable if you have mostly profitable locations. You can then show the potential buyer the success of your route and therefore can get a premium price for the sale of those machines.

Once you find a great location, you will need to approach the manager of the location. Ask for permission to place a vending machine there. You need to be prepared to offer either a percentage or if you have a charity sponsor you can usually put the machine in for free and pay the charity a flat monthly fee. Stick with a percentage instead of a flat fee to the owner. This will guarantee you the proper portion of income instead of a flat fee that can chew into your profits if your machine does not perform.

Scouting out the locations are one of the more challenging tasks, but can also be extremely rewarding when you find the diamond in the ruff so to speak. It is a thrill to find out you have a mini gold mine when you check your location after doing the research and getting the location. All the hard work pays off. Expect that 1 to 2 of your machines out of 10 will be this successful. Usually you will have 2 or 3 that fail and will have to be relocated. This is just a normal process in the bulk candy vending business. Remember, location, location, location is the most important aspect of your machines and how well they will perform and make you a profit.
