Bulk Candy Vending - A Great Business for College Students to Pay for College

Bulk Candy Vending - A Great Business for College Students to Pay for College

One of the things I like about the Bulk Candy Vending business is that anybody can get into it at a low cost and start making a profit.

Normally college kids and university students get a part time job to help supplement their income to help pay for college expenses that most college university students have and that require a good bit of money.

Bulk Candy Vending can be a perfect fit for a college student who does not have the hours to work a part time job while trying to study and cram for tough classes at the same time. Bulk Candy vending can be done in a much shorter timeframe and can not only earn the student money but also gives them experience with business at the same time.

This literally is a fantastic idea for a small business for any college student as it teaches them sales skills, advertising and marketing and the business mechanics of establishing strategies and testing various products and locations to maximize a profit. To tell you the truth if I was a college professor I would give extra credit to my business students who ran a bulk candy vending route for a semester or two and give grades based on performance.

At the same time a college student can earn between $400 - $1000 extra a month which can come in handy to pay for entertainment, food, clothes or their car. This can add up to a significant amount of money over the course of a year and can help minimize the amount of student loan debt a college student ends up with.

In most university towns you have small businesses that cater to the students in that area as they bring in lots of business to their establishments. I am sure many would be happy to have a student place their machines in the stores or lobbies in order for the students to make money as well as helping a local charity unless the student is the charity :-)

College Students can network and possibly setup large chains of vending routes together in certain areas.

The machines can be bought cheap and a minimum at a time setup in order to grow a cash machine that will give the College Student a passive income allowing them not only to study more but learn about business and all of the aspects of it in the real world not just using text books.

Being an entrepreneur to me is one of the most important things a college university student can learn how to do. Running your own business is the way to get ahead and can allow for time freedom depending on the business. I am not discouraging anyone from getting a good education and degree but I see so many flocking to get jobs and work for someone else when I think when they are young it is the time to be experimenting with your own business.

You may not get rich with bulk candy vending but this business can help you have the money to develop other businesses and to learn many things about a business and what it takes to succeed.

So for any of you College University Students that are out there I would like you to seriously look into starting a small bulk candy vending route to supplement your income for school expenses. Read or Blog and take in all the information and references to start you own business.

Many of you can discuss this with your friends on Myspace.com or FaceBook.com and I would challenge you to bring this discussion up about bulk candy vending routes and how developing this type of a business scenario could help many college students who are not making ends meet from a money perspective have a new source of income streaming in with a little hard work. It can be done with a minimal amount of hours each month by starting small, learning and expanding it over time.

Keep on Vending and never stop learning and getting excited about ideas and business!

Bulk Candy Vending - The Social Networking Aspects of This Business

Bulk Candy Vending - The Social Networking Aspects of This Business

Many work at home business opportunities involve sitting at home and working on the computer. Many employees dream of being able to quit their jobs and sit at home and work in their own office. Some enjoy going into work for the social aspect and to have friends they can talk to and hang out with. Without work they lose their daily routine and become isolated in their homes without much other interaction. Most of their friends are at work also and everyone else is out being busy.

Well this gets to my point about Bulk Candy Vending and the Social Aspects of this business. This is a great business that can be run out of the home, but much of the time is spent in social networking activities or should be spent this way. The exciting thing about bulk candy vending is the ability to meet many small business owners and interact with them each month.

Meeting people and interaction with others is what makes Bulk Candy Vending Fun. You meet people throughout your day and should always bring up conversation about your machines and business. Always listen up for opportunities to place a machine and also just enjoy the conversations with different individuals and learn their backgrounds and network.

Some of the owners, managers or individuals may not want to talk much and you are just in and out. But there will be those colorful personalities that you just cannot avoid and you will look forward to seeing these characters and talking to them on the journey of servicing your route. These people are what makes the world interesting and if you ever get to know them usually they have led very interesting lives.

Many of those business owners will become great future contacts and referrals to their small business friends to help you gain even more locations. This is the fun part of bulk candy vending and by default you will have to get out there in your community an meet people, talk with them and possibly become friends with them over time.

You will deal with many types of people that will help you with your bulk candy vending business and will help make it successful. Social Networking is a critical factor in this business and can make or break your business.

People usually like the Candyman and will be interested in what you are doing and your background. Usually you are in an out and onto the next job. But remember, when you have the opportunity give a little candy to the employees or owner and maybe chat a bit. The better they get to know you the better chance you will have as far as keeping your existing vending machines in that location and getting a vending rack or other vending machines placed in their locations.

Be active in your community and church and take advantage of the opportunity to network with as many people as possible to let them know about your business. Attend the Chamber of Commerce meetings and learn about what small business meetings you have monthly in the community to meet more small business owners.

Bulk Candy Vending should not be a business where you are isolated to an office at home even if you are doing it full time. You will be either interacting with suppliers or potential locations which makes this business challenging and exciting.

I have friends in this business that just absolutely love bulk candy vending and either are or want to do it full time because of the interaction with many people and the challenge of getting their route and combination of machines to produce the best return on investment possible. There is something about those little machines out there collecting money and tweaking them each month to do better and better. It is passive income at its finest and once you set them up right they will keep collecting money for you even when you are not working.

Till next time, keep on vending!

License and Storage of Candy for Bulk Candy Vending Machines

License and Storage of Candy for Bulk Candy Vending Machines

I hope everybody is doing well tonight on this Super Tuesday. In the United States, Just an FYI - Super Tuesday refers to the Tuesday in early February or March during a presidential election year when the greatest number of states hold primary elections to select delegates to national conventions at which each party's presidential candidates are officially nominated. Just a little trivia for you good folks out there.

It is a beautiful night here in Florida and cannot believe the warm weather we have been having. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 83 degrees with a low of about 66. I am originally from the mid-west so I really appreciate the weather here in Florida especially when I am seeing all the other weather across the U.S. I do miss seeing the snow there and when my brother told me they were getting 7 inches of snow in St. Louis I was really wanting to go there and do some sled riding. LOL

OK OK I will get back on the subject of our Blog, Bulk Candy Vending.

I had an anonymous poster tell me they were going to open a 25 cent bulk candy vending route in Melbourne, FL and was wondering where they should get a license and had a question on the storage of the candy.

Well, I do have a post that already covers this in the archives but will be glad to answer the question again since it has been a long time since we have discussed it.

The first thing you will want to do no matter where you are is contact City Hall. Ask them specifically about the .25 cent bulk candy vending machines. Sometime I would say, you know the small candy vending machines that take quarters. They will fill you in on their rules and regulations for their city.

Now to answer the question about Melbourne Florida specifically, you will need to go to City Hall and buy the vending sticker for your machine. They are $2 per head and have to be displayed on the front of the machines. I just take them and slide them down on the inside with the face of the sticker against the glass so anyone inspecting them will see it.

There is really no need to get an agricultural license for storing candy with such a small route. If you were doing large vending this might be the case. But we are talking about a small amount of candy and bubble gum. Just keep a small amount in your office and just replenish it by going by Sam's Club and using your Sam's Club card. It is well worth it and the candy is cheap there. They even sell vending machines all the way from the small bulk candy machines with stands to the large snack machines and even the large Crane machines.

When applying for the license stickers down at City Hall if you are going to use a different name other than your own you will need to fill out a ficticious name registration. This will set you back about $50 in the State of Florida and you can buy it online.
You will fill out a form with your business name etc. and they will file it and charge you the 2 bucks per head depending on how many bulk candy vending machines you are going to locate.

That is basically it. This gives you the authority to place your machines in locations within Melbourne, Fl for one year. After the year is up you just need to go down and get new stickers for that specific year.

Every city is different with there own way of licensing and fees. The main thing to remember is to contact your City Hall in the city where you live and find out the rules. Make sure you do the right thing and treat your business like a business and don't try to cut corners or not follow the rules as it will only get you into trouble down the road.

Good Luck to the anonymous poster and I hope your business grows and does well.

Till next time, Keep on Vending!

Steve
